She trained and qualified in Hong Kong, before moving to the UK in August 2022 and joins us from a national firm in Leeds.
Natalie brings with her experience in corporate and commercial law, focussing on private M&A, corporate restructuring, general commercial practice (such as advising on commercial agreements and business transactions), company administration and governance, shareholders’ agreements and T&Cs.
“Prior to transitioning to the legal industry, I worked in the Hong Kong tax authority for approximately seven years as an assistant assessor, specialising in tax audits and investigations, as well as individual taxes,” explains Natalie, who is a non-practicing member of CPA (HK), ACCA (UK) and ACA(UK).
“I find it fascinating to assist businesses with transactions that can have a significant impact on their future,” Natalie explains. “I also enjoy the challenge and excitement of analysing complex legal issues and finding practical solutions for our clients. It’s rewarding to help clients achieve their goals and grow in a competitive market.”
Natalie says she was drawn to joining CooperBurnett for a number of reasons.
“CooperBurnett is a highly respected law firm with a strong reputation in corporate and commercial law, as well as private client services,” she explains. “I am impressed by the firm’s commitment to providing top quality services to its clients.”
She continues: “Additionally, I was attracted to the firm’s culture of collaboration, open communication and respect, in addition to its emphasis on professional development and career growth for its lawyers. I feel fully supported by my teammates and seniors, and am grateful for the opportunities to learn and grow in my career, while contributing to the firm’s culture of excellence. CooperBurnett has a reputation for providing a supportive and collaborative work environment, which is demonstrated by its low turnover rate.”
“We are really excited to have Natalie join #TeamCB,” says Partner and Head of Corporate and Commercial Services, Victoria Sampson. “To have somebody on our team with her experience will be beneficial to both our team and our clients.”
When Natalie isn’t at work, she enjoys travelling and exploring new cultures.
“I find it exciting to immerse myself in new environments and experience new things, whether it be sampling local cuisine, visiting historical landmarks or engaging with locals,” she explains. “Travelling broadens our horizons and provides us with new perspectives on life, which can be beneficial both personally and professionally.”
