“We’ve spoken a lot about how people build their careers with us but looking at our team now I’m proud that we’ve got Partners who have been here for more than 20 years – and have so much experience and knowledge - while we are also being joined by some wonderful talent,” says Joseph Oates, Partner and Head of the Contentious department. “What makes me really encouraged is seeing our long-established Partners and team members sharing their expertise and experience with the newer members of our team.”
CooperBurnett recently awarded a training contract to Imogen Fleur – who has been part of the team since the beginning of 2022.
“I feel very excited that somebody with so much talent and potential as Imogen has chosen to launch her career with us at CooperBurnett,” says Victoria Sampson, Partner and Head of the Corporate and Commercial department. “I was her age when I joined the firm and I’ve never looked back. I really benefitted from the advice and counsel of some amazing mentors and I feel confident that Imogen – and all new recruits - benefit in the same way.”
CooperBurnett has gained recognition for both its corporate and commercial services, as well as its private client work and there are roles available across both sides of the business.
“I think what’s important to say is that while there are particular jobs listed on our website, we are currently in a growth phase here at CooperBurnett and if you’re a lawyer with skills in other areas – then we’d absolutely love to hear from you,” says Joseph. “If you’re interested in finding out more about CooperBurnett and what we offer appeals to you, then just pick up the phone.”
Adds Victoria: “CooperBurnett is not just about our legal team; we also have a fantastic group of support staff here – again many of whom have been here for many years. There are opportunities to join us in a range of areas.”
While it has a history to be proud of, CooperBurnett isn’t standing still.
“Our management team is committed to continuing to grow the firm and not only focus on our excellent reputation and the culture which has made us so successful but with an eye to the future too,” says Victoria. “We are currently pushing out our 3P Plan – which basically means people, people, people!”
Adds Joseph: “While our culture is important, we have also recognised that people need a workspace which they feel happy and comfortable in. We love our building and recently discovered more about its history – but we are currently working on refurbishing our interior and we’re excited to reveal that in due course. It will be an even better place to work and another reason to join our team here at CooperBurnett.”
