CooperBurnet LLP is holding a ‘Clearout for the Kids’ for its charity of choice Demelza Hospice Care For Children
CooperBurnett team members will be decluttering in September to raise vital funds for Demelza.
“Children always seem to have a growth spurt over the summer holidays, so staff members with kids will potentially have lots of items to donate, while it’s also a great excuse for a declutter ahead of the Autumn and a change of season,” says Senior Associate Katie Hilsdon. “Added to this, it’s something all our team can do to raise money for Demelza.”
Demelza has 27 shops throughout south London, Kent and East Sussex, as well as some online stores including Ebay.
“Not only will CooperBurnett be raising funds to support our vital care and nursing work but any donations help avoid items going to landfill, reduce CO2 emissions,” says Lila Dowie, Head of Corporate Partnerships and Trusts at Demelza. “Putting the collection point in the CooperBurnett office will make it super convenient for team members to bring their bags of items to work for drop off. Once we’ve picked everything up, we’ll let the team know how much their declutter has raised.”
Demelza shops are not just standard charity shops - they are treasure troves to explore! In addition to ‘standard’ charity shops, Demelza boasts a retail warehouse in Maidstone, a ‘man cave’ in Canterbury, Herne Bay’s media hub and the Sheerness children’s shop.
“Shopping with Demelza is not only a great way to pick up some bargains, it's also a way of helping us raise vital funds for our hospices and enable us to support hundreds of children and young people with serious or terminal conditions every year,” adds Lila.
