On Saturday 14 June, ten separate teams from CooperBurnett will be setting off on the CB Charity Coastal Challenge. They will be tackling ten individual marathon-length walks, along part of the King Charles III England Coast Path in Kent and Sussex. On the day of our challenge, the King will be celebrating his official birthday at the Trooping of the Colour in London.
This incredible charity challenge will be raising vital funds for CooperBurnett’s current chosen charity, Jigsaw South East, an exceptional organisation that supports children and young people through the death of a loved one in Kent, Surrey and East and West Sussex.
The target is to raise £1,000 per marathon – which will be pound-matched by the equity partners at CooperBurnett – with ultimate goal of reaching £20,000!
“We are thrilled to hear about this phenomenal coastal challenge being undertaken by the CooperBurnett team,” says Sally Ross, Fundraising Manager at Jigsaw South East. “The fundraising target of £10,000 could fund five of our flagship Jigsaw South East Bereavement Support Group Programmes over a year, supporting over 100 children, young people and families. We are so grateful for their support and wish them well in their training and on the day.”
Jigsaw South East wants to ensure that the families it supports through the death of a loved one receive the best possible support at the darkest time of their lives. No child or young person should have to face bereavement alone.
“Here at CooperBurnett, we have become known for our incredible charity challenges and, every time, we are amazed by the commitment and bravery of our team members who take part,” says Partner, Victoria Sampson. “The CB Charity Coastal Challenge is arguably our most ambitious challenge to date – with team members stepping out to connect the stunning southeast coastline in a ‘jigsaw’ of footsteps.”
“As Partners, we want to show our support for our team members – and for Jigsaw South East – by pound-matching what is raised.”
Adds Lisa Connolly, Partner and member of CooperBurnett’s Charity Committee: “The support Jigsaw South East provides to support children and young people after the death of a loved one is amazing. We know that our team members will have this in the front of their minds as they take every single step along the route.”
