Our chosen charity, Demelza Hospice Care For Children, has unveiled its new branding as part of its strategic ambition and commitment to reach more children and families. The green branding, with additional circles in different colours, features a child and the tag line ‘extraordinary care for extraordinary children’.
Demelza supports over 2,500 children, who are facing serious or life limiting conditions, and their family members every year. It works throughout Kent, South East London and East Sussex.
Senior Associate, Natasha Smith, from our Employment team was appointed as a trustee of Demelza last year.
She says: "I was really pleased to see the Demelza rebrand. After 25 years, I felt it was the perfect time for Demelza to refresh its look and pursue its ambition to help more people understand exactly what this charity is about. The colours are modern and clean and the tag line 'extraordinary care to extraordinary children' has such impact. I know from my exposure to the care and support Demelza delivers that it is indeed extraordinary."
Adds Lavinia Jarrett, Demelza CEO: “We are very proud of our heritage and this new look and feel will enable us to tackle the misconceptions surrounding children’s hospice care, which we know and understand can be a real barrier to families accessing our care.”
Derek and Jennifer Phillips established the charity’s original hospice in Kent 25 years ago in memory of their daughter Demelza, who tragically died of a brain tumour, at the age of 24.
Adam, her brother, sat on the steering group for the rebrand and says: “What Demelza has achieved in my sister’s memory over the last 25 years is nothing short of incredible. It has been an honour and privilege to be so closely involved with this important project.”
