We asked Jemma Graffin from Sustain what £7000 means in real terms and she said: “A family food parcel costs around £50 and an individual food parcel costs £25. This means £7000 would support 140 families with food parcels or 280 individuals.”
When our team took part in the Walking Marathon, which was part of the Festival, it started from the church and the walkers saw for themselves some of the food parcels ready to be collected. It really brought home to us all where the money raised was going.
Thanks to everyone who supported the Walk Tonbridge Festival. Plans are already coming together for next year’s event.
