We also know that our team is set to grow significantly this year, as we will be welcoming two new Partners to the team – but more about that in due course. We are continuing to recruit and did so right through the pandemic and look forward to even more new faces joining us over the next 12 months.
In 2023, there will be some significant work anniversaries here at CooperBurnett and we’re looking forward to celebrating them all. Our Head of Accounts, Gareth Warner will have been here for an amazing 25 years; while Partners Jonathan Rowe and Katie Gillam will record 15 years with us.
As ever, our work in the community continues to be a great sense of pride to us all. We were thrilled to support the Walk Tonbridge Festival for the past two years and are already talking to James Pavlou about how we can help again in 2023. We are also continuing to support Demelza Hospice Care for Children as our charity of choice during 2023. Our charity committee is busy thinking of our next challenge and there are plans afoot to do something big this year! Watch this space.
In addition, we have already pledged to support a lunch in March in Crowborough, which is raising funds for Cancer Research UK, while we are in the final stages of an initiative to sponsorship an exciting and very new sports team at one of our local schools. More of that in the next few months.
Out in our business community, Victoria is continuing to co-host enTWine, the business forum for Tunbridge Wells – which has gone from strength to strength – while as a firm, we are supporting organisations such as Kent Invicta Chamber and Sevenoaks Chamber. Of course, we are also immensely proud of our long association with the Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge & District Law Society, of which Partner John Spence is currently President. Under his tenure, the organisation has really grown and increased its profile.
The last couple of years have been turbulent in many ways, but we have felt things returning a little more to ‘normal’ over the past few months and we hope that this continues to be the case. We do know that there are challenging times ahead for us all, as we struggle with the cost of living crisis and everything that throws at us. With that in mind, we are grateful that our clients have remained loyal to us, particularly over the past few years, and our workload has been busy across all our practice areas, with a significant pipeline of work in place for 2023.
We do hope that you are feeling equally as positive in terms of your business and personal goals and aspirations for 2023 and look forward to supporting you in any way we can.
Joseph Oates and Victoria Sampson.
