Gareth joined CooperBurnett 25 years ago as a general office clerk and today he is Head of Accounts, managing an ever-busy team.
Over time, Gareth found himself enjoying the accounts side of his work and, after a while, moved over to be a full-time cashier. It was a role which saw him undertaking data entry, looking after clients’ money and making sure CooperBurnett complied with all the various rules and regulations.
While his main responsibility is accounts, Gareth has also become our go-to person for IT issues while, over the past few years, he has been instrumental in rolling out our case management system.
Gareth is also a member of CooperBurnett’s charity committee, helping to organise fundraising events for our charity of choice, which is currently Demelza Hospice Care For Children. He has taken on challenges, including climbing the three peaks in 24 hours in aid of the hospice charity ellenor. In 2019, he was part of our team which cycled from London to Paris in just 24 hours, raising more than £25,000 for Brain Tumour Research.
“Over the past 25 years, Gareth has become an integral part of our team,” says Victoria Sampson, Partner at CooperBurnett. “He has refined and streamlined our processes when it comes to accounts and is very knowledgeable in compliance issues, while he is incredibly supportive with IT issues. In fact, the role he plays affects every part of our business and his input is invaluable.”
Adds Partner Joseph Oates: “The commitment Gareth has shown to CooperBurnett over the years has been second to none. He has worked his way up here through sheer hard work, combined with loyalty and reliability.”
