Continued growth for CooperBurnett’s Corporate and Commercial team
CooperBurnett’s Corporate and Commercial team has recently welcomed Associate Solicitor, Thomas Newlyn. Tom holds an LLB from the University of Exeter, a Masters in European Law from the University of Rennes in France and has recently completed his Legal Practice Course in London.
Tom is working closely with Victoria Sampson and Andrew Hawkins, advising clients on all aspects of Corporate and Commercial Law, as well as fellow Associate Solicitor, Katie Hilsdon.

The Corporate and Commercial team boasts a combination of long-standing CooperBurnett lawyers, such as Victoria, Tom Lumsden and Jonathan Rowe, as well as some more recent additions, including Andrew Hawkins and Charlotte Mackenzie.
Partner Andrew Hawkins has worked in both the City and in regional practices, and has brought CooperBurnett expertise in areas such as the veterinary sector, in which the team has advised on £25 million worth of sales by vets of their practices in the past 12 months.
With many corporate transactions including property elements, it is essential to have a strong Commercial Property team to work alongside their Corporate colleagues. CooperBurnett can boast such a team, which includes Partner Tom Lumsden who has built a great reputation for his work in the care home sector, charities and education.
The Corporate Property team expanded earlier this year with the arrival of Associate Solicitor, Charlotte Mackenzie. Her role includes assisting clients with a broad variety of commercial property matters, such as landlord and tenant issues, sales and acquisitions, secured lending and the property aspects of corporate transactions.
