Formed in 2019, RTW Together BID is a not-for-profit organisation that is funded by and represents businesses in Tunbridge Wells town centre (within the defined BID area). Businesses within the BID footprint contribute an annual levy, based on the rateable value of the premises.
“RTW Together is keen to represent every corner of the BID and is delighted to welcome Joseph Oates and Victoria Sampson representing local law firm, CooperBurnett, to join our board of directors where they can direct their extensive talents to supporting the strategy and direction of our work for the business community of RTW,” says Alex Green, BID Chief Executive Officer.
RTW Together uses the funds to deliver projects and activities that are designed to provide a collaborative, more powerful voice to support the business community and improve the trading environment. As the organisation states: ‘We aim to promote the area and increase footfall through events and marketing campaigns and to provide services such as business training, street improvements and safety support’.
The board directors – and these currently also include Peter Allinson from Whirligig Toys, Justine Rutland from TWBC and Alex Greig from Fuggles Beer Café – are drawn from various sectors and areas across the town.
“Since it launched four years ago, we have seen the positive impact RTW Together has had on our town,” says Joseph Oates, who joined CooperBurnett nearly 25 years ago. “I am looking forward to working closely with the rest of the board and helping to make Tunbridge Wells an even better place to live, work and run a business.”
