CooperBurnett advises the shareholders of Regency Design & Print on an equity release and investment to fund the Company’s growth plans.
The Corporate team at CooperBurnett was delighted to provide legal advice to the shareholders of Regency Design & Print Limited for an equity release and investment funded by Foresight Group, the infrastructure and private equity investment group, with additional banking facilities provided by The Royal Bank of Scotland.
The team at CooperBurnett was led by corporate partners Victoria Sampson and Andrew Hawkins, and the Company and shareholders were also advised by West Kent firms, Ward Mackenzie and Castle Corporate Finance.
Regency is a designer and manufacturer of printed materials for the beverage equipment and retail point-of-sale sector. Founded in 1986, the Company boasts a longstanding customer list which includes Coca Cola Enterprises and Lucozade Ribena Suntory. The equity injection will enable Regency to continue building and be in the position to respond to its growing pipeline of orders.
The management team at Godstone-based Regency that Foresight is supporting comprises David Harkness and Julian Simpson, who have both been with the Company for many years. Foresight will be working with David and Julian to bolster the management team with plans to add a Chairman and Financial Director in the near future.
“We are excited to be working with Foresight at an important stage in our development,” says David Harkness. “We have a huge opportunity to really accelerate the business by delivering on the pipeline, moving into new geographies and adding more blue-chip customers. This was a significant transaction for both Julian and me, as well as the Company, and so it was extremely important that we worked with people who understood our objectives and aspirations for the business.”
He continues: "Victoria Sampson, Andrew Hawkins and their team at CooperBurnett did a superb job throughout this process. They were able to give advice in all areas of this extremely complex deal. Critically we could totally rely on them for their expert professional help and advice, leaving us free to continue with our day job, of running the business!"
Adds Victoria Sampson, Head of Corporate at CooperBurnett: “We were delighted to be involved in this exciting deal for David, Julian and Regency, which puts the Company in a great position to help it achieve the objectives it has set and to be able to service a growing pipeline of orders. The deal was intensive and required significant input from our team, and showed the strength and depth we have in our Corporate department here at CooperBurnett. We very much enjoyed working with David and Julian and wish them every success for the future.”
