Clare most recently worked within a marketing agency, where she headed up the project management team focused on software and IT delivery. The firm’s clients included Ikea, and Clare worked on delivering the retail giant’s loyalty programme in both South Korea and Mexico.
“While the last time I worked in a law firm was when doing work experience at school, my skills – particularly in project management – are transferable,” she explains. “In addition, I pride myself on having a ‘can do’ attitude and getting things done.”
Clare says that the ‘stars aligned’ in terms of her joining CooperBurnett.
“I wasn’t actively looking for a new role but my neighbour knew Victoria Sampson and told me the firm was looking for a new Practice Manager,” she explains. “While I wasn’t familiar with CooperBurnett, I looked on their social media channels and website and could see they are a long-established firm, with strong links to the local community. It seemed like the perfect role for me.”
Partner Joseph Oates says: “We are excited to welcome Clare to our team here at CooperBurnett. She brings with her excellent project management skills and experience, as well as a great deal of enthusiasm.”
Clare is looking forward to driving forward some current projects within CooperBurnett.
“Covid-19 has thrown up many challenges in the way all businesses work and part of my role will be to step back and look at how we are doing things as a firm,” she says. “I want to make sure that the way we are utilising our case management system is optimised and that all our processes are efficient.”
She adds: “In terms of stand-alone projects, we are looking to refresh certain of our workspace areas and I’m project managing that.”
In her spare time, Clare likes to spend time with her daughter, walk her cockapoo, read, cook and keep active. She particularly enjoys scuba diving, something she did most recently in St Lucia.
