Property litigation Partner, John Spence, was voted in as Deputy Vice President of the Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge & District Law Society (TWTDLS)

Property litigation Partner, John Spence, was voted in as Deputy Vice President of the Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge & District Law Society (TWTDLS) at its recent AGM.

John joined CooperBurnett’s litigation team in 2018 and is a member of the Property Litigation Association. He has more than 20 years’ experience in all aspects of property disputes, including residential and commercial landlord and tenant work, dilapidations and service charge disputes, business and residential possession claims.

CooperBurnett has been closely involved with the organisation, which represents solicitors practicing and living in West Kent, for a number of years. Partners Victoria Sampson and Katie Gillam have both held the role of President of TWTDLS, as did former Partner and now Consultant, Jonathan Smithers, who went on to be President of The Law Society of England and Wales.

At the AGM, John’s role in creating a presence on Twitter for TWTDLS and managing the account was acknowledged.

“I am very proud to have taken on the role of Deputy Vice President of our local Law Society,” says John Spence. “It also feels good to be part of something which we, as a firm, have supported for such a long time.”

He adds: “The organisation does much to work with lawyers in West Kent and it’s a really useful way to develop and support those in our profession.”
