CooperBurnett Solicitors | Meet Glen who joined our Residential Property team in January 2019

The Residential Property team at CooperBurnett has recently been bolstered with the addition of Associate Solicitor Glen Webb who has brought with him a huge amount of knowledge of land law. He joined the team in January, having trained with a firm in Buckinghamshire.

Glen began to consider law as a career while still at school.

“I liked the discipline of law and its permeation all around us,” he explains. “It affects so many areas of life.”

He read law at Cambridge University (Homerton College) graduating in 2013 and after finishing his LPC (as top graduating student) he joined a firm in Buckinghamshire. Whilst there he spent time undertaking private client and property work but was drawn to residential property.

“I enjoy its transactional aspect, working towards a common goal, whilst ensuring the best interests of clients are preserved,” he says.

Glen took the decision to relocate to Kent due to family connections.

“I got to know the town and quite often walked past the CooperBurnett offices and thought it looked like a great place to work,” Glen explains. “I checked out the website and saw that they were recruiting for a residential property lawyer, so sent in my CV.”

In only a short time at the firm, Glen says he’s noticed the friendly professional community that exists in the Tunbridge Wells area.

“Our department is very busy and it’s clear that our reputation in the surrounding area is well rooted,” he adds.

While Glen is dealing with the general day-to-day activity of transacting residential property, he has a particular interest in high value rural property.

“I enjoy the technical drafting of complex transfer deeds – sales of part or the negotiation of deeds of grant of easements for access or services,” he explains.

Jennifer Irving, Head of Residential Property at CooperBurnett adds: “It’s very exciting to have a lawyer join us who has such a keen interest in the ‘pure law’ of residential property. Glen’s knowledge in this area is a fantastic addition to the team.”

In his spare time, Glen enjoys running and playing squash.
