This advent, Partner Victoria Sampson isn't indulging in chocolate. Instead she's doing a 'reverse advent calendar' in aid of Nourish Community Foodbank – which covers Tunbridge Wells and South Tonbridge. Each day, she’ll be putting aside an essential food bag item for a family struggling this festive season.

Victoria will be collecting donations from other team members at CooperBurnett and will deliver the items to the Nourish collection point ahead of Christmas.

Nourish Community Foodbank is hoping to beat last year’s record-breaking donation tally!

“2016 was the first time we had run a Reverse Advent Calendar campaign, so we didn’t know what to expect,” says Nourish Co-Chair Olga Johnson. “We were amazed and delighted at how people from Tunbridge Wells, Tonbridge and the surrounding areas took the idea to heart. We received nine tonnes of foodbag items in December, making it the most successful food drive we have ever had. It would be fantastic if we could do even better this year!”

If you want to join Victoria and the team, here is a Christmas wish list from Nourish:

• Christmas treats

• Tinned potatoes

• Instant mash

• Dried noodles

• Long-life milk

• Coffee

• Small toiletries

• Household items

Completed calendars can be dropped off at the Nourish pop-up shop in Ely Court at Royal Victoria Place from December 20-22 between 12-5pm, or until December 23 at the Big Yellow Self Storage at Longfield Road.
